The Dolomites!

There is really no better place to go, in the summer, than to what many would consider to be the most beautiful mountains in Europe, if not the world. Spectacular, awe-inspiring, and sublime are just some of the superlatives that come to mind when describing the Dolomites, which since 2009 have been included among the nearly 60 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Italy.

Come and enjoy not only the breathtaking scenery but also the unique food and way of life that encompass three different cultures, the flora and fauna, as well as opportunities for optional walks, hikes and bicycle riding through some of the most evocative landscapes to be found anywhere.

  • Small group size limited to just 12 persons.
  • Possibly the only tour that focuses on just the Dolomites alone.
  • Discover a surprising part of Italy where the main spoken language is not Italian but a very local version of German and the rare and little-known Romance language called Ladin.
  • Visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology and meet Ötzi, the 5300 year old mummy, the oldest ever found in Europe.
  • Learn about alpine flora and fauna from our expert guide.
  • Explore the World War 1 (1915 to 1917) trenches and ruins in the the little known Dolomites front that was bitterly fought over between Italy and Austria.
  • Quality accommodations located near to or in the heart of town.
  • Authentic regional and local cuisine, with fresh local ingredients.
  • Personal time for you to go shopping, visit a museum of your choice, or simply relax and savour the ambience.
  • The highlight of the tour include hikes around the Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks of Lavaredo), and cycling excursions including a scenic ride from San Candido in the Dolomites to Lienz in Austria.
  • Transfer by train from Venice-Mestre or Milan Central railway stations to Bolzano is included in the price of the tour, along with the eventual transfer from Sappada Venice-Mestre railway station at the end of your tour.

This is what our customers have said of the Dolomites during their private visit in 2016:

We had a wonderful time in the lovely village of Cortina d'Ampezzo up in the Dolomites mountains of Italy. Enjoyed the beautiful golden sunrise, the snow-capped mountains and crisp mountain air. We even managed a short trek at the Lavaredo Pass which gave us a close up to the awesome Dolomites! Many thanks to Eu Chai and Ergo: Travel for making arrangements for the travel and accommodation.
