Day 1 - Sat 25 November (Lunch, overnight in ROME)
We begin the tour in Rome with the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, followed by lunch in a typical restaurant and then a brief visit to the very interesting church of St. Clement before we leave the rest of the day free for you to rest or do as you please.
Day 2 - Sun 26 November (overnight in ROME)
On the agenda this morning is a walking tour of the Historical Centre, visiting Piazza Spagna, the Fountain of Trevi, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo de' Fiori, with the afternoon left at leisure.
Day 3 - Mon 27 November (Lunch, overnight in ROME)
The Vatican City is on the programme this morning, with the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by a pizza lunch and the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4 - Tue 28 November (Lunch, overnight in ASSISI)
We visit one of the famous catacombs this morning, and then make our way to Assisi stopping for lunch in the Umbrian countryside.
Day 5 - Wed 29 November (Lunch, overnight in ASSISI)
This morning a guided walk is scheduled to introduce you to the birthplace of St. Francis, followed by lunch in typical restaurant, and then a short excursion to the Rocca Maggiore for a view of the spectacular view of the town and the Vale of Spoleto from above.
Day 6 - Thu 30 November (Lunch, overnight in FLORENCE)
Today we travel into the Tuscan countryside to visit the beautiful hill towns of Siena and San
Gimignano before we head for Florence for the night.
Day 7 - Fri 1 December (Dinner, overnight in FLORENCE)
A tour of the city is scheduled today, with a visit in the afternoon to the Uffizi Gallery to see
some of finest artworks of the Renaissance with an expert guide.
Day 8 - Sat 2 December (overnight in FLORENCE)
You shall be taken this morning to Pisa to see its splendid Romanesque cathedral, amazing
baptistery, and of course, the world-famous Leaning Tower. The rest of the day is yours to
spend at your leisure when we return to Florence.
Day 9 - Sun 3 December (Lunch, overnight in VENICE)
We stop in Bologna enroute to Venice for a visit to this lovely town as well to see the exquisite Early
Christian church complex of Santo Stefano, before enjoying a real Bolognese lunch.
Day 10 - Mon 4 December (overnight in VENICE)
We begin the day with a boat ride along the Grand Canal to admire the beautiful palaces, and
follow that with a guided walk around the city centre. The afternoon is left free for you to
wander through this marvellous and fascinating city on water.
Day 11 - Tue 5 December (Lunch, overnight in VENICE)
Today we explore the islands of Murano and Burano – the former for the wonderful works of
Venetian glass, the latter for its colourful houses, fine lace, and justly famous seafood!
Day 12 - Wed 6 December (Lunch, overnight in CORTINA D'AMPEZZO)
A visit to the famous fish and vegetable market in Rialto is scheduled for your final morning in Venice before we make our way towards the mountains in the north, stopping in Treviso along the way for lunch based on the radicchio trevigiano, the seasonal local vegetable for which this town is justly famous for.
Day 13 - Thu 7 December (Dinner, overnight in CORTINA D'AMPEZZO)
Today we take you around the spectacular mountains surrounding Cortina, including some of
the most famous icons of the Dolomites.
Day 14 - Fri 8 December (overnight in MILAN)
We say goodbye to Cortina this morning to head for Bolzano, where Italy’s most famous
Christmas market is found. We then make our way through Tyrolean valley after the few hours of leisurely shopping toward Milan, Italy's most modern city which hides some surprisingly ancient roots.
Day 15 - Sat 9 December (Dinner, overnight in MILAN)
A local guide will show you around the capital of fashion and design this morning, after which
the day is yours to spend as you wish. A grand farewell dinner is planned for this evening.
Day 16 - Sun 10 December
Tour ends after breakfast this morning.
